Five wizards and witches, who have been the greatest of friends ever since their first ride with the Hogwarts Express two decades ago, now own a series of houses along a cul-de-sac in Hogsmeade. They are all very different, yet they are immensely loyal to eachother and share eachothers deepest secrets. They have all pursued different careers, have different abilities, and different pets. Everyone also has a very special magical object that they prizes above all else. The five friends are Alice, Emma, Greg, Ian and Mary.

  1. One of the two friends living closest to the Obliviator owns a powerfull Remembrall. She usually jokingly suggests that it might come in handy one of these days if he practices Obliviate at home and too many Butterbeers have made his aim sloppy. *kidding* The phoenix does not live in her house.
  2. The metamorphmagus lives as far from the middle as the owl's owner does.
  3. The Parselmouth hates Dark Magic with a passion and works as a Curse Breaker. He lives in the first house on the street.
  4. The two wizards do not live next door with eachother.
  5. Alice, whose pet can fly, lives in the middle of the street.
  6. The Unspeakable also has an unspeakable secret: her father was a giant!!! She can't afford to let anyone - except her old friends - know this. If someone becomes too nosy, she invites them to her house and her friend next door - the Obliviator - helps her solve the problem. *joking*
  7. The spy-glass owner lives next to a hippogriff.
  8. The owl lives in the same house as the Portrait of Merlin hangs in.
  9. To get to the werewolf's house you have to pass the house with a Flying Carpet in.
  10. The Auror lives in the last house. She is the only one who has to go past the werewolf's house to reach her own.
  11. The Invisibility Cloak is owned by the half-giant.
  12. Ian owns a puffskein.
  13. Professor Mary doesn't own either the Flying Carpet or the Portrait of Merlin.
Correctly "pair up" the five friends different homes, belongings, careers and abilities.

Is it too hard? Are you stuck? You can get one helpfull, additional clue, which will lessen the complexity somewhat, by pressing: HINT wanted, please!
