| Posted at 2005-06-12 22:54:54 | | New areas added today! | I've been Trying and Trixing a lot lately, to put together a few new things... and to make them look like I want. As a result two brand new areas are now up!  Logic Puzzles and a Guestbook. Anyone can post in it. Logged in members can also edit their own posts within 24 hours (provided they were logged in when they posted).
Hopefully all pages are consistently updated to reflect these new areas! If you spot something that appears to be old or odd or something, please post it in the brand new Guestbook, and I will look into it ASAP!
Unfortunately the menu now looks really bad with two lines. I'm looking into a solution... But I don't want it to be broader than the banner and I didn't want to hold off the updates until I've fixed the menu. Hopefully, you'll be able to stand it for awhile.... It will be replaced when I've got the redisigning of that one to work... 
With only 33 days to go till the release of HBP, the smilies are so happy they have decided to wear their Christmas caps...

(According to the weather, it's early spring... ) Either way, summer holliday isn't quite here yet, although it's closing in. As soon as I've got some more free time I'll get on with a few adjustments and ideas I've been sitting on for awhile, due to time constraints. 
Time or no time... recently Warner Brothers made a few images from the upcomming movie (GOF) available. Try & Trix celebrates this fact by a whole bunch of new jigsaw puzzles in various cuts. With these new images the total amount of jigsaw puzzles became large enough to warrant some sort of structure, so the jigsaws are re-ordered a bit. If you don't find an old one it's because it's been moved within the page. They are all still there.
There's a new quiz up too, Wizard Literature Quiz taking a look at the books of the wizarding world. There are some really fun titles in there!
Another result of the newly released photos are that Harry on the welcome-page is now a year older.

It has been a long time since the last update. Sorry about that, lots of things just ate up all puzzle creation time the passed month. Anyway, finally there are two new puzzles up: a jigsaw starring the trio in POA, and a big CW.
Also, I've finally sat down and made the necessary changes to ajust the scoring in textfields. Now more than one answer may result in a correct result. Most especially, this is true for the common "fault" many has got on Tom Riddle, now it, too, will score as being correct.
I've also fixed two broken links since last update.
The update emails have now been sent to every confirmed member on the mailing list. If you're on this list and haven't received any, alert me, please.

| Posted at 2005-04-05 11:44:24 | | Problem with aol??? | Addreamy alerted me that she never received any confirmation email after registering.  Luckily enough she had another way to contact me (through the Leaky Lounge). I originally assumed that it was a temporary glitch of some sort, but today when I checked the member register a bit more closely, I realised that most unconfirmed memberships corresponds with email addresses from aol!!! And that no member with such address has confirmed their membership without troubles. This seems odd... Of course it might be a coincedence, still...  it seems odd.
So today I've sent out a bunch of new registration emails from another email address, one that obviously worked for Addreamy anyway. I will try to figure out what the problem is, and would appreciate a note (through email or the comment area) from people who has signed up with an aol address, regarding the amount of confirmation emails you got, one or two?
I'll try to program a way for guests to contact me, too, but I don't have time to do this immidiately.

What better way could there be to celebrate this day, than to introduce a quiz about 'Gred and Forge'? The prime prankers of the HP world... The "prank" from Try & Trix is that you will have to login if you want to take this quiz! 
I've also added a Geography Quiz that's publicly available, whether you login or not.

| Posted at 2005-03-31 19:08:58 | | The Quizzes are temp closed | I am about to test something. To be certain that this works as intended, I will temporarily stop the Quiz part of the site from loading. If you try to access it, you'll end up here at news.
All other puzzles and pages work as normal, and the Quizzes will be back in about an hour. And possibly sooner... As soon as this is lifted, I will update the news.
If you are unfortunate enough to surf in while this is in effect, you can spend some time on the crosswords or jigsaw puzzles instead. Otherwise you're welcome back in an hour or two.

OK, so you can't exactly call it the "nearest days", but... I've finally removed the register option from the menu to people already logged in. It's replaced with a link to Priv&Pol which is short for Privileges & Policies and basically hold the same info as the register page, without the register form.
As part of my trixing with this page I made some (very) small changes to the Terms of Use text. You can check the result out under Register or Priv&Pol in the menu. (And I doubt you'll spot the difference...)

A few more puzzles have been added today: two quizzes (Quotes and JKR), one crossword (Hogwarts CW) and a new jigsaw puzzle (Ron).
The update email has been sent to all confirmed members on the email list.

Then... I'm sorry but I still seem to have an over-active alarm function on the board. I'd forgotten that it could be tricked by the First Name Quiz as well as the Rate function (both uses text areas). Since I fixed it specifically for rates...
I'll look into it ASAP and try to find a better solution.

This event is celebrated by two (genuinely) new puzzles popping up today. Quidditch History Quiz for those who has read Quidditch Through the Ages not too long ago and a small and comparatively easy Small Hogwarts CW. I originally intended to have even more puzzles pop up today, but due to a very persistent and tiring cold (or flue?) my time to compose them have been badly affected. So more puzzles will come... but not today.
Changes in the House Banner codes
If you've let the Sorting Hat sort you and then copied the House Banner code for use somewhere, please exchange it for the newer code available now. If the banner itself appear as part of the link, ie it's clickable, then you have the newer code, which also is shorter than the old one. To get the new code:
1) Login.
2) Go to MyCP.
3) Choose the last alternative: "I want to see my House Banner code!"
If you're not a member, you'll have to redo the Sorting to get the new code.
