Now you don't have to be all that sharp-eyed any longer.  There's an addition in the menu, which is, so far, non-responding. This is not an error, only a way to make the integration quicker when it's ready to sail.  Or in other words, it's something new on its way...
As a small token on comming updates  there's one new jigsaw puzzle available as of now.

| Posted at 2006-04-28 21:42:58 | | Corrections and more | The day before I left on my Easter trip, SteveZ alerted me about a wrong answer in the PS/SS Movie Quiz. Thanks a lot for the report and I'm sorry it took this long to fix it! When I first saw this movie, back in 2002, I was mad they'd given Harry's eye color to Madam Hooch. However, when I now look at the movie, it isn't so!?! I appologice to everyone for this odd miss on my part. The question is now changed.
While doing this I spotted a spelling error in one of the Quote Quizzes, that's corrected to.
Finally, I have clarified the info on what the puzzles are based on to:
Try & Trix assumes that you have read all six currently published books. Any puzzle that only use info from a subset of the books, will declare this in the description and/or the title of the puzzle!!!
More updates are comming later...

My only problem was the timing. I went south to celebrate Easter at another end of this country and so I was without my broadband for a fortnight.  Unfortunately I had no time to put down here before I left, not even enough to fix the reported error in the PS/SS Movie Quiz. This is still pending, I need to take another look at the movie before changing it. Sorry about that. It's comming though, and I haven't forgotten it. I've just had a major time problem.
During Easter inspiration spired, so now there are quite a few new puzzles on their way, of which some require more and others less job before they can appear here. But they are comming... There's also a new type of puzzle on its way... The sharp-eyed logged in member might spot some minor trace of this. So if you spot something you don't recognize, be patient please. I'm programming on it...
The crosswords from January are no longer marked as "new".

Edited in two hours later: All puzzles in the HBP Category has now been transfered to other relevant categories instead. The HBP category is no longer in use.

| Posted at 2006-04-09 15:02:25 | | Updated the COS Movie Quiz | Thanks to the sharp eyes of winky I've been able to correct an error in the COS Movie Quiz. Apparently the creature statues in the Chamber of Secret weren't of the animal I thought... Sorry about that, everyone! 
I am currently off on vacation, but this was a really quick fix, so I was able to change it fairly quickly.
Also, welcome to the newest members! FadedDarkness has finally got a confirmation message too. If Rowan, Strider of Eire or someone else want another confirmation message sent by hand to avoid spam filters, just post in the Guestbook to let me know. Welcome back, everyone!

I just realised that one of the newest puzzles was just linking back to the list of available jigsaws instead of to the solving area. Sorry about this. It is now fixed, and the hug puzzle is now possible to solve too.

| Posted at 2006-03-05 18:39:49 | | Several updates | Today several things worked together in such a way as to create a lot of free time to program in. My two most frequently visited HP communities both were unusually quiet, Explore Potter - because everyone else were very busy elsewhere, and Leaky Lounge - because it's moved to a different board this weekend. And on top of that I had less things craving my attention "in real life" too. The result was that this place has got an unusual amount of attention today.
The, so far, most important visible change is a completly re-arranged FAQ. Instead of all entries appearing in any odd order they are now - more or less - neatly placed in categories. All old info is still there, together with some new info too. I've also added a select box so you can find a particular answer faster.
I've also lowered the required pass levels to get into the highscore lists for CWs so it's the same as for quizzes. Why it wasn't that way originally is a good question... But at least now it is.
I've also fixed some annoying bugs behind the surface that I'm the only one to have been irritated by. Took all of 10 minutes  when I had time to let it take all day...

There are also a completely new area up, for members only: Two Flash Games of WB's making. Logged in members can find these under Member/Extra Fun in the menu.
The update emails has been sent to all confirmed members on the mailing list.

But there are some (minor) visible changes for Firefox surfers.

Now it's possible to sort the search result for member names on the respective columns in the memberlist. Which might be useful if you searched on partial member names. I've also made it possible to search on partial names if you give at least 2 letters (originally you had to give 3).

The info below only apply to features for logged in members.
I've put in a warning in the rating box, that the comment area only swallows 200 characters. In the passed year only a few persons have tried to write anything longer, but what happens is that the messages are truncated. Hence, if you want to tell me something longer, please use owlpost, see Members/Owlpost in the Menu.

The SPOILER period for HBP is finally over!!!
If you wondered why it took so very long, it was because I had to go through all existing non-HBP puzzles and check whether their answers would differ when HBP was included among the books. I have finally taken the time to do this, and the result is that Who Belongs Where? has got a warning added into the description that the answers are to be determined pre-HBP. In all other cases I have ajusted the puzzle in the very few cases where things might be interpreted differently post-HBP.
For the moment, the category HBP still remains for those puzzles that has been majorly inspired by that book. Mainly for them to be easily located. But they will, eventually, be moved to another category. Quote Quiz 2 has already been moved to the Books category, as just some quotes are from HBP, not even most.
Going through all puzzles this way, I've also updated a few of the CWs where I thought the clues/hints were a bit too vague.
I've also removed the spoiler warning from the guestbook page.
Finally, I've corrected a minor bug in the MyResult page so that you'll get one link to each highscore list per puzzle, not per times your name appear in the list. Also updated the link to Jo's site for the text only version - about time!
Phew, that was it!

I've just fixed a paging for the member list, so it isn't one loooong page to scroll through. Other than that it works the same as before.
Edit about an hour later: Now you can also search for a username or a partial username, provided you type in at least 3 letters. If you enter less than three letters, all names are listed.

| Posted at 2006-01-16 00:14:51 | | Updated one of the CWs | I was just taking one of my CWs, Magic CW, when it suddenly dawned on me that it makes use of a strictly brittish word, and hence must have been really difficult to solve for americans! Sorry about that! I've ajusted the Clue and Hint to make this evident, and also turned the hint into a complete give away.

It has been fixed and the two persons on the Highscore list of that CW has got an extra point added to their results. (Since it was impossible to get that word correct earlier.)
